The Scandalous Marriage of Olivier and Leigh

 

 

The coupling of Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh began with an affair, ended with an affair, and their twenty year marriage proliferated with affairs. The pair had problems with their physical intimacy, which only added to the discord that was detailed previously in the first part of this article. It is somewhat remarkable based on what is known that this celebrity duo stayed together for so long.

 

The Magi Society has shared with you previously that Juno is the most sexual planet and is the planet that represents infidelity, casual sex, illicit sex, and affairs. A look at the heliocentric CAC of Olivier (black planets) and Leigh (red planets) sheds light on the promiscuity and the havoc it created.

 

 

Olivier’s Juno is in aspect with Leigh’s natal Saturn-Chiron square. This happens to be a very prophetic alignment in their lives. In the Magi Society’s third book, Love & Money the natal interpretation of Saturn-Chiron includes this passage; “The native very often has a desire and ability to destroy marriages and break up families.” When Olivier and Leigh first met the result was the dissolution of both of their existing marriages (Saturn square Chiron) as a consequence of their affair (Juno). The pendulum swung the other way 20 years later when affairs on both sides that led to their own divorce.

There is tight symmetrical planetary geometry with the Earth, Mars, Juno, and the Jupiter-Saturn midpoint. This geometry tells us the marriage (as an entity - symbolized by the Earth) would be full of frustrated (Saturn) sexual (Juno) desire (Mars). While occasionally physical intimacy (Mars-Juno) would be blissful (Jupiter), most of the other times it would be a disaster (Saturn). This alignment could also be interpreted as a marriage (Earth) destabilized (Jupiter-Saturn midpoint) with strong desires (Mars) to have affairs (Juno).

In both geocentric and heliocentric charts Leigh’s Saturn trines Olivier’s Chiron. In geocentric declinations Olivier’s Saturn parallels Leigh’s Chiron. The authors go on to say, “The Saturn person has a high level of control over the destiny of the Chiron person, and has the upper hand in the overall relationship.” Vivien Leigh is the Saturn person in two of the three linkages and regardless of her behavior it was very difficult for Olivier to leave the relationship.
